Working Class Share Ownership

Working Class Share Ownership

My researches into the Co-op Mill in Chorley led to an analysis of share ownership (it was a Joint Stock Company with limited liability). It was clear that working men and women, particularly powerloom weavers in the 1860s were embracing share ownership.(supported by Hampson's researches on the Irwell Valley). Was working class share ownership being more widely advocated by national organisations?
